Shure MV88 built quality

Shure MV88 is an awesome portable mic with the Lightning connector for iOS devices.

However, you can face little trouble connecting this mic when you use iPhone or iPad case. For that reason, you need to remove the case from your iPhone or iPad to connect this mic properly.

The capsule of this mic is visible in its fine-mesh metallic grille body. However, this mic has two capsules to adjust stereo field and mono recordings.

Shure provides a mall zip-up case and a very short 3.5mm cable with this MV88 Model so that you can use them to monitor the sound quality while recording.

Wrapping Up

The ShurePlus Motiv iOS App allow headphone monitoring to record the audio perfectly, which works great on older Lightning iPhones like the 6S.

The only problem is that Apple decided to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7, and They will never bring it back, so you can’t monitor the audio easily on the latest iPhones.

Shure released the MV88 before that happened, so I hope they will work on the update to include a headphone jack, But there’s no official word till today.

The MSRP for the MV88 is $149.Lastly, Shure offers the optional but recommended AMV88-FUR Rycote Windjammer for MV88 for more effectively blocking wind outdoors.
